OGR Torino present METRONOME by Sarah SzeTainted Lovers by Sara Enrico From November 3, 2023Free admission OGR Torino corso Castelfidardo 22 Torino, November 3, 2023 – Two exhibitions commissioned and produced for the industrial spaces of OGR Torino. Two international artists, each with their unique artistic poetics, explore the boundaries and potential of sculptural expressions in contemporary art. From November 3, 2023, as part of the Torino Art Week, OGR Torino welcomes the solo exhibitions of Sarah Sze and Sara Enrico, both curated by Samuele Piazza. In Binario 1, Metronome marks the first solo exhibition in an Italian institution by the American artist Sarah Sze (Boston, 1969). Until February 11, 2024, she presents a large environmental installation to the public, co-commissioned and co-produced by OGR Torino in collaboration with Artangel – London and ARoS – Aarhus Art Museum with the support of Victoria Miro. This monumental work represents the incessant flow of information that characterizes and influences our present times. In Binario 2, Tainted Lovers by Sara Enrico (Biella, 1979), produced with the support of Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT, gathers a series of works created by the artist through sophisticated manipulation of materials such as fabric, cement, and foam, arranged in a unique installation in the space until December 10, 2023. Courtesy OGR Torino “OGR Torino has experienced a rebirth and is now soaring like a phoenix in the blaze of productivity. Its mission is to create value, inspire ideas, foster opportunities, support businesses, promote culture, and nurture a lively, experimental, and exploratory artistic production. At OGR Torino, we don’t just exhibit; we encourage artists to interpret the present by engaging with the past and invite the public to partake in a transformative experience. This apparent contrast gives rise to the most vibrant ideas and valuable opportunities, where spaces steeped in industrial history change and transform, as seen in the custom installations by artists Sarah Sze and Sara Enrico, torchbearers of contemporary art,” explains Fulvio Gianaria, President of OGR Torino. “The hybridization between culture and innovation is integral to the spirit of OGR Torino and to its physical spaces, where site-specific installations with high visual and emotional impact allow contemporary art to open up for us new visions of the changes currently taking place, also as the result of technological evolution. The new exhibitions clearly show two of OGR’s strengths: on the one hand, our will to network and create bridges between Italian and international players – Artangel, ARoS and the American Academy in this case. On the other hand, our ability to create the right space for the most important names in art, inviting the city – and anyone visiting Turin during the Art Week – to an unforgettable experience,” explains Massimo Lapucci, CEO of OGR Torino.
